I The issuance of lawful gambling permits is subject to local approval by the City Council. , BACKGROUND j Pursuant to City Ordinance, Richard Alan Banker, on behalf of the Church of St. Rita, located at 8694 80th Street, Cottage Grove, MN 55016, has submitted an application for a temporary "On Sale" liquor and single occasion gambling permit for the conduct of raffle, bingo and pull tabs to be held at ', the Church of St. Rita, located at 8694 80th Street, on September 16t", 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., September 17th, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and September 18t", 2016 from 11:00 a.m. ; to 5:00 p.m. He also submitted an application for a temporary "On Sale" liquor license for August ; 13th, 2016 to be held at the same location noted above,from 11:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. The Department , of Public Safety is required to conduct a police investigation of the applicants. � DISCUSSION ; The application as submitted is complete, in compliance with our ordinance and is exempt from the , licensing requirements of the Minnesota Charitable Gambling Control Board. We have investigated , the applicant and have not found any facts which would constitute a basis for denial of this application, under the provisions of the City's Gambling Ordinance. RECOMMENDATION � Recommend that the City Council approve the single occasion Gambling Permits and "On Sale" temporary liquor applications for the Church of St. Rita. � Craig Woolery i Director of Public Safety i
