This intersection provides an important regional transportation connection. As the surrounding land develops, increased traffic and truGk volumes will strain the capacity of the existing road- way. Safety concerns are increasing, especially related to the lane configuration, close intersec- tion spacing, and lack of gaps for vehicles turning left. The construction and modernization of this roadway, made possible by the 2018 Metro Municipal Agreement Program, will provide the necessary safety and management improvements for the future. The City of Cottage Grove will continue to work with Washington County and Mn/DOT on this intersection. Thank you for your consideration.
