Burbank, Senior Planner DATE: January 6, 2017 RE: Historic Preservationist of the Year Introduction The Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation annually nominates a person or organ- ization who goes above and beyond to promote an aspect of Cottage Grove’s history that helps to share our understanding and general knowledge of the people and places of our past. The list of previous recipients of this distinction is attached. Discussion The ACHP is requested to suggest people or groups that would stand out as likely candidates on the nomination list for 2017 Historic Preservationist of the Year. which will be acted upon for recommendation at the March regular meeting The ACHP can discuss if the award should be presented at the May 3, 2017, City Council meeting during Historic Preservation month or during Strawberry Festival related Council activities. Furber Wedding and Event Center allowing for its continued existence as a unique component of the historic fabric of the community.
