Staff Recommendation Receive update and take action as necessary. Films in 5 Festival 2017 Communications Plan Begin promoting the open call for film festival submissions in May. 1. Have Sharon add info to the City's May water bill. 2. Promote films in 5 submission info on May Cottage Grove Spotlight and Weekly Wire. 3. Contact Park High School and Woodbury Senior High School media arts teachers and have them share info with their students. They can submit the films they've been working on for extra credit (we did this last year, too.) 1. Contact newspapers: South Washington County Bulletin, Woodbury Bulletin, Pioneer Press and Star Tribune. 2. The City of Cottage Grove can link a press release onto the homepage of their website. Can this be added to the website scroll? 3. The City of Cottage Grove shares info on their social media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.) 4. 1 will share info on the Art Beat Facebook page. 5. Commissioner Klinga can have Park High School make some announcements to the students that week. 6. 1 will e-mail all of the past Films in 5 submitters to let them know about this year's event. 7. 1 will post info on the MNTV Hotline 8. 1 will have IFP share the info in their summer newsletter 9. 1 will post info on Townsourced, the online bulletin board. 10. I'll have Ann add the info on our SWCTC channel bulletin board (which will run throughout the summer.) 1. Display Films in 5 flyers at City Hall 2. Facebook Live event after our Arts Commission Workshop 1. Setup Films in Festival Facebook event page and encourage others to invite people and share it. 2. All of us on the Arts Commission can share the info and Facebook event page on our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) 3. 1 will share the info and Facebook event page on the Cottage Grove Highway 61 Facebook page 4.
