Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the Economic Development Authority was

held at Cottage Grove City Hall, 12800 Ravine Parkway, Cottage Grove, Minnesota 55016 on the 10
day of July 2018.
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 a.m. by EDA President Bailey.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

3.1 Approval of EDA Minutes May 29, 2018
EDA Member Thiewes motioned to approve the May 29th, 2018 EDA Meeting Minutes. EDA
Member Westerberg seconded. Motion passed unanimously (5-to-0 vote)

4.1 Economic Development Update/Business Inquiry

Economic Development Director Costello gave an update on the new business and projects occurring in
Cottage Grove.
EDA Member Westerberg inquired how many units were part of the Park Place Storage and what was
the average square footage of the units. Community Development Director/City Engineer Levitt stated
they range from 7,000 square feet to 10,000 square feet. A complete breakdown of the number of units
and their square footage will be provided at the next EDA meeting.
4.2 Amendment to the Contract for Residential Development with Twin Cities Habitat for
Humanities
Economic Development Director Costello presented on the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanities project

occurring on 85 Street and the need to amend the current contract.
EDA Member Thiewes removed himself from the vote due to a potential conflict of interest as an
employee of the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency, which helps finance Habitat for Humanities
projects.
EDA Vice President Dennis motioned to authorize the EDA President and Executive Director to
amend the Contract for Residential Development with Twin Cities Habitat for Humanities.
Seconded by EDA Member Carey. Motion passed (4-to-0, EDA Member Thiewes abstained)

6.1 Calendar

EDA President Bailey stated that on July 10 the Chamber of Commerce was doing an after hours
networking event from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.

EDA Member Thiewes made a motion to adjourn. EDA Member Westerberg seconded. The
meeting adjourned at 7:43 a.m. (5-to-0 vote)
