HomeMy WebLinkAbout07H Rental License Issuance TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Jennifer Levitt, City Administrator FROM: Samantha Drewry, Code Enforcement Officer DATE: December 27, 2018 RE: Rental License Approvals Background/Discussion Rental licenses are required for non-owner occupied residential properties (City Code Title 9-13, Property Maintenance, and Title 9-14, Rental Licensing). These ordinances were recently updated. One of the changes included City Council approval of all rental licenses prior to issuance. Rental licenses are issued on a biennial basis. The licensing process includes submittal of the rental license application, payment of $180, and public criminal history report. Rental inspections are conducted on all rental properties as part of the licensing process. Once all information has been submitted and the inspection satisfactorily completed, the Council must approve the license prior to it being issued. The properties listed in the attached table have completed the licensing process and are ready to have their licenses issued following Council approval. Recommendation Approve the issuance of rental licenses to the properties in the attached table.
