RE: Website and Social Media Performance Metrics
Background/Discussion
The Discover Cottage Grove website was launched in December of 2020. It did not begin to see
significant web traffic until the first social media campaign was launched in April 2021. The first
campaign was aimed at raising awareness and driving users to the homepage. A “Staycation
Giveaway” was offered as an incentive to encourage guests to sign up to receive future emails
and join the mailing list. The email audience currently contains 612 members.
In June of 2021, an additional social media campaign was launched. During the months of
September and October, there was a very large spike in website traffic due to some bike park and
Halloween ads that performed exceptionally well. Blog posts and targeted email blasts also played
a significant role in this.
In November of 2021, the original social campaign dollars were reallocated towards a display
campaign allowing us to advertise on additional channels and reach a broader audience.
Since the website launched, there has been 16,300 visitors to the site and 12,702 of those visits
are a direct result of marketing efforts. There has been a total of 1,404,806 ad impressions that
have received 42,819 ad engagements.
Recommendation
Review the website and social media performance metrics.
