The display case to be utilized is located in the Training Room hallway as shown in the image below. l Training Room Display Case Advisory Committee on Historic Preservation Historic Display Case March 14, 2023 Page 2 of 2 Discussion In order to begin the process of creating the display case, staff would like input from the Committee on what the theme should focus on. Below is a list of options that staff has determined based upon the items, photos, stories, etc. found within City files. 1. Sites Listed on the National Register of Historic Places o Cordenio Severance House o Gray Cloud Lime Kiln o John P. Furber House o Schilling Archeological District 2. City Register of Historic Sites and Landmarks o First Congregational Church/Accacia Lodge o Dr. Arthur L. Steen House o John P. Furber House o Atkin Cemetery o Watson Family Home o Cottage Grove Town Hall o Cottage Grove Cemetery o Hope Glen Farm o Lyceum Gall Caretakers Sheds o Roger Shepard House o Harry Roberts House o St. Matthews Evangelical and Reform Church o Cordenio Severance House o John P. Furber Wedding and Event Center o Old People's Cemetery 3. Cottage Grove: A Historic Timeline 4. Other Next Steps Following the Committee's recommendation on a theme, staff will begin gathering related items, photos, stories, etc. to be used for the display case. At an upcoming ACHP meeting, staff will present the Committee with different design options for the display case based on the items, photos, and stories gathered. Recommendation That the ACHP should discuss and recommend a theme for the historic preservation display case.
