Hunting Ordinance - Captain Pete Koerner
Captain Koerner gave a review of the proposed changes to the Cottage Grove hunting ordinance. Koerner explained that each year the Public Safety Department brings the ordinance to the
Public Safety and the Planning Commissions for input and a recommendation before presenting to the Council. For the 2017-18 season, the Public Safety Department has reviewed the designated
areas for discharge of firearms and archery equipment and has approved the areas designated. Koerner showed the Commissioners a map of the designated area. Koerner stated there are
no changes to the firearms hunting area. However, there are two changes to the archery hunting area due to development. The area of Grayson Meadow (development north of 70th St/ and
east of Jamaica) and the area of Calarosa (development north of 65th and east of Ideal Ave.) Koerner asked for any questions. There was none. A motion was made by Staloch to approve
the 2017-18 maps designating boundaries for discharge of firearms and archery equipment for hunting and seconded by Dornsbach.
