HomeMy WebLinkAboutPublic Services Minutes 8-21-17 Minutes City of Cottage Grove Public Services Commission Meeting August 21, 2017 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Cottage Grove Public Services Commission Meeting was held on August 21, 2017. CALL TO ORDER Meeting called to order at 6:35 p.m. ROLL CALL Members Present: Campbell, Robert Dornsbach, Robert Griffith, Kent Lewis, Jody Podoll, Jeff Rediske, Lise Serpico, William Staloch, Peter Members Absent: Ingram, Steve Staff Present: Koerner, Pete - Police Captain Redenius, Rick – Fire Chief Burshten, Les – Public Works Director Taylor, Harry – Public Works Supervisor Burfeind, Ryan – Assistant City Engineer Estrem, Nate – Project Engineer Orloff, Gary – Streets Foreman Alt, Rick – Utility Foreman Others Present: Bailey, Myron – Mayor Dennis, Steve – Council Member Wayne Johnson, Councilmember Mills, La Rae – Council Member Approval of Agenda Agenda – None Approval of Minutes Minutes - None Open Forum None Presentations None New Business Hunting Ordinance - Captain Pete Koerner Captain Koerner gave a review of the proposed changes to the Cottage Grove hunting ordinance. Koerner explained that each year the Public Safety Department brings the ordinance to the Public Safety and the Planning Commissions for input and a recommendation before presenting to the Council. For the 2017-18 season, the Public Safety Department has reviewed the designated areas for discharge of firearms and archery equipment and has approved the areas designated. Koerner showed the Commissioners a map of the designated area. Koerner stated there are no changes to the firearms hunting area. However, there are two changes to the archery hunting area due to development. The area of Grayson Meadow (development north of 70th St/ and east of Jamaica) and the area of Calarosa (development north of 65th and east of Ideal Ave.) Koerner asked for any questions. There was none. A motion was made by Staloch to approve the 2017-18 maps designating boundaries for discharge of firearms and archery equipment for hunting and seconded by Dornsbach.
