REGULAR MEETING MINUTES – 2:00 P.M. (In-person or TEAMS)
1. CALL TO ORDER
Called to order by HERO Manager Dan Anselment at 1404 hours.
2. ROLL CALL
Committee members present: Pete Koerner (Cottage Grove), Brenda Malinowski (Cottage Grove),
Jason Posel (Woodbury), Angela Gorall (Woodbury).
Others present: Dan Anselment (Hero Manager), Greg Rinzel (Cottage Grove), Tom Ehrenberg
(Woodbury)

4. CONSENT AGENDA
A. HERO FOC Meeting Minutes – June 21, 2022
Staff Recommendation: Approve the Meeting Minutes from June 21, 2022, regular meeting
B. HERO Financial Statements
Recommendation: Receive Information
C. HERO 2023 Budget Amendment – DATA PROCESSING 2900-4321
Recommendation: Approve the 2023 budget amendment for Data Processing for $43,400
Motion to approve consent agenda items, Motion by Koerner, 2nd by Gorall. Motion carried 4-0.
5. APPROVE DISBURSEMENTS
A. Approve payments from 6/17/2022 to 9/15/2022 in the amount of $71,867.72.
Anselment discussed the payment to Jared Larson was for the vendor Hummingbird Environmental. Motion to approve consent agenda items, Motion by Koerner, 2nd by Gorall. Motion carried 4-0.
6. REGULAR AGENDA
A. Nominate and appoint new FOC Board Chair for remainder of 2022.
Recommendation: Appoint and approve a new FOC board chair for remainder of 2022.
Gorall mentioned that Clint Gridley had offered to replace Board Chair Vague for the remainder of
2022. Motion to approve Gridley as Board Chair, Motion by Posel, 2nd by Gorall. Motion carried 4-0.
7. ADJOURNMENT
Anselment discussed the completion of the range baffles which was successful and appears to be a
good solution for long term. Many active users were unaware the project even took place.
Anselment also noted the decrease in agencies registering for hosted courses due to staffing
shortages and budget shortfalls. Agencies are still reserving the HERO center for facility training
space, just noticed decrease in hosted course registrations for remainder of 2022.
Motion to adjourn the meeting at 1414 hours, by Koerner, 2nd by Malinowski. Motion carried 4-0.
