• The purpose of the special meeting was to continue discussion of the 80"' Street
reconstruction project and to qive residents whose property is located on the north frontage
road at Ideal Avenue and 79 Street the opportunity to discuss with Council their concerns.
A number of residents in attendance noted that under some options on street parking would
be eliminated from properties located at 7981 Ideal and 8304 80' Street. Council Member
Hale suggested that Staff assess the cost of redoing that portion of Ideal Avenue by using
more property on the west side of Ideal to minimize the impact on 7981 Ideal Avenue.
Following discussion, Council consensus was for Staff to meet with property owners
located at 7981 Ideal Avenue and 8304 80' Street South to negotiate landscaping and
compensation options. Council consensus was to bid design concept 3, or a plan generally
similar which maintained 2-way traffic on the frontage road and kept it open at Ideal Avenue
and that any additional changes needed to complete the project would be handled by
addendum. Council also suggested the City Engineer provide them with information
regarding lighting for 80 Street. Their intent is to make 80"' Street a gateway for the City.
