HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-04-15 MINUTES (SPECIAL MEETING)SPECIAL MEETlNG COTTAGE GROVE CITY COUNCIL � APRIL 15, 1998 CALL TO ORDER The City Council of the City of Cottage Grove, Washington County, Minnesota held a special meeting on Wednesday, April 15, 1998, at the Cottage Grove City Hall, 7516 80 Street South. Mayor Denzer called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. CALL TO ORDER Present: Mayor John Denzer Council Members Rod Hale Council Members Jim Wolcott Council Members Sandy Shiely Council Member Cheryl Kohls Absent: None Staff Present: Ryan R. Schroeder, City Administrator Caron Stransky, City Clerk i Kim Lindquist, Community Development Director Michelle Wolfe, Assistant City Administrator John McCool, Senior Planner John Burbank, Associate Planner Bob Long, City Attorney, Kennedy & Graven Mayor Denzer presided over the meeting. The purpose of the special meeting was to meet with members of the CITYVISION 21 Task Force to review the Task Force Final Report dated February 1998. The following Task Force members were in attendance: ➢ Eileen Weber, Co-Chair, 8450 Indian Blvd. ➢ Louise Smallidge, Co-Chair, 10992 Pt. Douglas Rd. ➢ David Wrolstad, 8735 Ironwood Avenue South ➢ Richard Sawyer, 10971 Grey Cloud Trail South ➢ Richard Falb, 7853 Hillside Trail ➢ Chris Willhite, 7503 Ideal Avenue South ➢ LeRoy Johannsen, 7163 Jocelyn Avenue South ➢ Jamie Lind, 8528 Hale Avenue South Eileen Weber informed the Council that none of the task force members present • received a copy of the April 14 Memorandum prepared by Kim Lindquist. Therefore, it would be very difficult for them to respond to any of staffs comments. SPECIAL MEETiNG - 4/15i98 Cottage Grove City Council Page 2 • Council Member Shiely suggested that the discussion this evening be tabled until after the City Council Members have had an opportunity to discuss the report amongst themselves. There was brief discussion relative to the Environment & Natural Resources, Community Center, On the Future of the River, and the Land Use & Housing goals and recommendations. Mayor Denzer thanked all the members of the Task Force and distributed individualized Certificates of Appreciation.
