PARK PAVING PROJECTS

The City recentiy solicited written quotations for the construction of pathways at
Hamlet Park, Arbor Meadows Park and Kingston Park. The City also requested
cost estimates for the construction of a gravel based parking lot at Kingston
Park. The projects were bid as a lump sum price with no detailed breakout for
each individuai pathway section.
DISCUSSION
Immediately foliowing the April 1, 1998 City Council regular meeting, a workshop
was heid to review and discuss park improvement projects proposed for funding
by the Park Trust Fund Account in 1998. The list of projects were prepared and
by Staff and endorsed by the Parks Commission and the City Council.
In follow up to that v�rkshop, Staff solicited written quotations for the instailation
of pathways at Arbor Meadows, liamlet T'ark, and Kingston Park. Quotations
were also requested for the construction of a gravel based overflow parking lot
at Kingsto� Park. In an effort to get the best quantity prices possibie, Staff will
be recommending the paving of this lot latter this summer, by change order to
either the 80` Street Project or the E-3 road reconstruction project.
The City received two written quotations and the results were as follows:

Staff recommends awarding the work to the low bidder of Frattalone Paving inc.
This issue is being placed on the May 20, 1998 City Council agenda for you
review and approvai.
