The Council approved the specifications and autnorized staff to solicit bids. DISCUSSION The notice of bid was officially advertised in the Washington County Bulletin. In addition, plans and specifications were mailed directiy to turf equipment representatives throughout the area. The City will be publicly opening bids at 11:00 a.m. on Monday May 20, 1998. Staff wiil be providing the Council with bid results in the Tuesday packet. ' 1•�� r ' � a TO: HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL FROM: JOHN FREDRICKSON SUBJECT: PURCHASE OF 11' ROTARY MOWER DATE: MAY 19, 1998 ISSUE On Monday, May 18, 1998, at 11:00 a.m. , sealed bids were pubiicly opened for the purchase of an 11' rotary mower for the Parks Division. Forty-five thousand ($45,000) was budgeted in the 1998 Equipment Repiacement Program for this sceduled purchase. The City received two bids and the resuits were as foilows: North Star Turf Inc. $33,957.53 �� Cushman Motor Company $33,�.80 Fleet Maintenance Division Foreman (Mark Oison) and Park Maintenance Foreman (Bonnie Schroeder) have reviewed the submittals and have determined that North Star Turf Inc.'s bid meets or exceeds specifications. Council Action Request Based on the bid results, Staff recommends the purchase of a Jacobsen HR5111, 11-foot wide, 4-wheel diesel rotary mower from North Star Turf Inc. in the bid amount of $33,957.53.
