Subject: Instaltation of Backstops

In 1997, the City contracted for the construction of three (3) new bailfieids at
Grey Cloud Elementary School and One (1) new field at Arbor Meadows Park.
Turf has been established and we are now making plans for the instaliation of
backstops and piayer benches in preparation for use in 1999.
Discussion
The City solicited bids for the installation of backstops. We received four (4).
bids. The bid results were as foilows:
Winkei Enterprises $11,400
Gary's Fence Co. $11,900
Century Fence Co. $14,285
Dakota Fence Co. $22,188
Councii Action Repuested
Based on bids received, staff recommends that the backstop installation projects
be awarded to the low bidder of Winkel Enterprises in the bid amount of $11,400.
The budget estimate for the instaliation of the backstops was $12,000.
This issue is being placed on the September 2, 1998 agenda for council review
and approval.
