Minutes of the Meeting of June 24, 1998

of April 29, 1998.

Bruce Schmidt, Grace Krumm, Brenda Peper
second by Todd to approve the minutes of the meeting
Motion carried 4-0.
2. Receive information concerning Transit Plan Gommission Workshop
Mr. Shinn attended this workshop. He stated that the following areas were
not currentiy served: Pine Hili Schooi, and the East Side of Jamaica.
There is also no Saturday or Sunday service.
3. Appiication Review
The Commission informed the applicants of the history of the Commission.
They discuss anything that the City Council would like them to study such
as the American with Disabilities Act and the City of Cottage Grove
Personnel Policies. They helped in having sidewalks built from the
Cottages to the Senior Center.
Ms. Grace Krumm discussed her qualifications for being on the
Commission. She has a Para-Legai degree and is currently working on
her Psychology Degree. She believes that her experience in being a
Court Advocate wouid help her bringing issues to the Commission such as
women's issues.
Mr. Bruce Schmidt discussed his qualifications for being on the
commission. He has worked for the Dakota County Sheriff's Department
for 10 years. He believes that his professional background will help him to
become an effective Commission member.
The two applicants left the meeting and the applications were discussed.
Mr. Shinn questioned whether Ms. Kathy Hayes, who had filled out an
application, had called with a reason as to why she wouid not be at the
meeting. Ms. Peper stated that Ms. Hayes had not contacted her. Mr.
Shinn made a motion to appoint Mr: Bruce Schmidt and Ms. Grace Krumm
to the Human Services Commission pending Council approval. Second
by Todd. Motion carried 4-0.
4. Commission Comments
The Commission asked to not meet in July if there was nothing on the
Agenda to discuss.
5. Adjaurn
Motian by Lind, second by Todd to adjourn. Motion carried 4-0.
