INTRODUCTION
All locations within the City of Cottage Grove, that sell alcoholic beverages, are
required by State Law and City Ordinance to be licensed.
BACKGROUND
Prsuant to City Ordinance, Betty Lou Schultz, on behalf of Boondocks Bar and Grill,
located at 7402 amar Avenue South, Cottage Grove, Minnesota, has submitted an
appiication for an "On Sale" 3.2 malt liquor license and "Off Sale" 3.2 malt liquor
license. The Department of Public Safety is required to conduct a police investigation
of the applicant.
DISCUSSION
The application of the Boondocks Bar and Grill as submitted, is complete and in
compliance with our ordinance.
We have inspected the premises and have not discovered any deficiencies which
wouid constitute a basis for deniai of an "On Sale" 3.2 malt liquor Iicense and "Off
Sale" 3.2 malt liquor Iicense under the City's Ordinance or the Minnesota Uniform
Fire Code, as amended.
We have investigated the applicant and have not found any facts which would
constitute a basis for denial of an "On Sale" 3.2 malt liquor license and °'Off Sale"
3.2 malt liquor Iicense under the provisions of the City Liquor Ordinance or Minnesota
Statutes relating to alcoholic beverages.
RECOMMENDATION
Recommend that the City Council approve the Liquor License appiication for the

Re: Boondocks Inspection
On September 2, 1998, Fire Chief Dave Daliy, Investigator Pete Koerner and I met
with Boondocks owner Betty Schultz to conduct an inspection to verify the current
condition of the facility as it relates to current health and safety standards.
We were unabie to inspect the floor or roof systems as there are no access panels.
However, I noted a new tin roof that wiii need to be sealed and some dilapidated
siding that will have to be replaced in the near future. I asked Ms. Schultz to provide
a water heafer pressure relief valve extension and install visible address numbers.
Both of these items were completed on September 3.
No other health and safety violations were observed and I noted a current favorable
report from the Washington County Health Department.
