COUNCIL ACTION REQUEST Proclaim the month of October 1998 as Crime Prevention Month in the City of Cottage Grove and urge all citizens, government agencies, schools, public and private institutions and businesses to increase their participation in our community's prevention efforts and thereby promote good citizenship. Whereas adults must invest time, resources, and policy support in effective prevention and intervention strategies for youth, a�d teens must be engaged in driving crime from their communities; Whereas effective crime prevention programs excel because of partnerships among law enforcement, other government agencies, civic groups, schoois, faith communities, businesses, and individuals as they heip to nurture communal responsibility and instill pride; NOW Therefore the Mayor and Council do hereby proclaim October 1998 as Crime Prevention Month in the City Of Cottage Grove and urge aii citizens, government agencies, schools, public and private institutions, and businesses to invest in the power of prevention and work together for the common good.
