Yearly Cost PDF To: Honorable Mayor and City Council Jennifer Levitt, City Administrator From: Adam Moshier, Fleet and Facilities Manager Date: 7/8/2025 RE: Kraus-Anderson Facility Assessment Report Workshop Background The City of Cottage Grove’s buildings require yearly maintenance and future planning for that maintenance cost. Specifically, for the City Hall/Public Safey building and the Central Fire Station, staff contracted the services of Kraus-Anderson Construction to perform a facility assessment for the Capital Improvement Plan. Considering the high cost and complexity of these two facilities, this assessment will allow the City to properly plan for maintenance expenses and not be caught off guard by more costly items. This review looked at the entire facilities and site improvements and provided a 20-year maintenance plan with cost estimates. It is important to note that this plan does not lock in a year for maintenance/replacement, rather it is a detailed planning tool to be prepared for these future costs. Kraus-Anderson has compiled the assessment to present to City Council in an executive summary as outlined on the following pages. This same facility assessment was performed on the Hero Center in 2024 and provided staff with valuable information regarding the Capital Improvement Plan and future maintenance items. Budget Over the next five years, 2026-2030, the plan calls for an average of $251,921 that would be allocated into the municipal building fund. Here is a summary of the items that are mentioned in those first five years. This combines City Hall/Public Safety building and Central Fire Station items. For the years 2031-2035, the plan calls for an average of $1,337,610 per year.
